One person was hospitalized following a house fire Sunday evening in the Town of Kiantone. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office say Kiantone Fire and several mutual aid departments responded to 2490 Brown Street shortly after 7:00 PM and were able to extinguish the fire. The lone occupant of the residence was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of injuries. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team found that the fire started in the kitchen area of the home, but the cause is being ruled undetermined, pending further investigation. Kiantone received mutual aid from Busti, Frewsburg, Jamestown, Lakewood, Fluvanna, Russell (Pennsylvania), and Chautauqua County EMS.
