Lawrence Park man charged after 3-month-old suffers serious injuries

A Lawrence Park man has been charged after allegedly harming his 3-month-old child causing extensive injuries.

According to police records, 32-year-old Curtis R. Finn is being charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children among other charges.

The infant was taken to the hospital on Aug. 23, 2024, after Finn told police that his child fell from his arms after making a fuss, landing on the side of their head.

The infant was flown to UPMC Pittsburgh for emergency surgery where doctors said the child suffered traumatic brain injury and a fragmented skull fracture that required neurosurgery.

Doctors said the injuries fell in line with massive blunt force trauma to the head and weren’t consistent with a drop.

Doctors also said there was blood around the victim’s spine, which indicates that it had been intentionally flexed and bent unnaturally.

Court paperwork shows that Finn has posted bail.
