Fiber-optic cables are the fastest way to connect to the internet, and now those high speeds could be coming to a neighborhood near you.
Velocity Network (VNET) is a locally owned internet service provider, and after bringing fiber internet to over 16,000 homes in Erie, the business is expanding their service.

“We really know that fiber is the way of the future. It is the fastest internet access that you’re going to get,” said Kim Clear, a Millcreek Township supervisor.
VNET Fiber is moving into phase two of their fiber internet initiative, bringing high-speed and secure internet to thousands more houses in Erie County.
“Phase two will involve us building fiber around 20,000 additional homes, and that will be centered primarily around Millcreek, Erie and Harborcreek,” said Joel Deuterman, VNET’s president & CEO.
