Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Role in Mail Fraud Conspiracy Targeting Lakewood Company

A North Carolina man has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud in connection with a scheme that targeted thousands of companies nationwide, including one in Chautauqua County. This week, U.S. Attorney Trini Ross announced the plea by 30-year-old Nicholas Scarantino, which was the result of an investigation by the FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and IRS Criminal Investigations.
