Sheetz plans to rebuild its store at Asbury and West Ridge roads in Millcreek next year.
The company has presented a land development plan to demolish the store and build a larger store in its place. The Millcreek Township Planning Commission has recommended approval of the plan. Township supervisors are expected to consider the plan Nov. 26.
The current 4,650-square-foot store will be replaced by a 6,139-square-foot store that could open as early as next fall, according to information presented to the Planning Commission on Nov. 12.
The new store will include a drive-through lane and 10 fuel pumps. The current store has 18 fuel pumps.
“Essentially it’s going to be a brand new store with all new parking, underground storage tanks and landscaping. Everything will be brand new,” Greg Geishauser, of Stiffler McGraw, a Hollidaysburg engineering, surveying and architectural firm, told Millcreek Township Planning Commission members.
