( WJET/WFXP )– A Chautauqua County teenager has been charged after police said he made threats of mass harm to a Dunkirk, NY high school on social media.
According to the Dunkirk Police Department, the threat was posted on the suspect’s Snapchat back on Dec. 8 with the Dunkirk City School District Superintendent confirming the threat to Dunkirk Secondary School.

Superintendent Michael Mansfield said in a statement that evening the threat was not credible and that extra patrols were provided on Dec. 9 out of an abundance of caution.
After an investigation by Dunkirk police and the local FBI office, a 15-year-old male was charged with making threats of mass harm and will appear in court at a later date.
