Another winter weather advisory affecting NWPA, surrounding counties on Sunday

( WJET/WFXP ) – After recent snowfall covered the region, another winter weather advisory will be in effect for surrounding regions on Sunday.

The advisory is in place for Dec. 15 from 4 a.m. to noon. This will affect Ashtabula County in Ohio and Erie and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania.

Travelers can expect freezing rain leading to ice accumulations on roadways, causing slick and hazardous conditions for the morning hours.

Temperatures should push above freezing by late Sunday morning to end the freezing rain.

Additionally, the same advisory is also in place for Venango County , lasting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, and McKean and Warren counties , lasting from 10 a.m. on Sunday to 4 a.m. on Monday.

Travelers can expect mixed precipitation with snowfall accumulations on roadways to reach up to 1 inch for Venango County residents and 2 inches for McKean and Warren residents.

The mixed precipitation should change to rain as temperatures rise above freezing early Monday morning.
