Erie woman charged for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the eye

Erie police have arrested a 34-year-old woman after they said she stabbed her boyfriend in the face.

Erie police responded to the situation just before 2 a.m. In the 2100 block of West 23rd Street after a man went to neighbors, pounding on doors screaming that he had been stabbed in the eye.

When police arrived they found Jessica Bowersox who said that her boyfriend had left.

She granted police the ability to search the home where police said they found blood trails on the floor throughout, and allegedly a bloody knife.

“Officers were able to to take a look at some surveillance in the area, house surveillance. We did see the victim pounding on doors and did have an apparent wound to his face. At this time, officers then took this female into custody,” said Rick Lorah, deputy chief of Erie Police.

Bowersox has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury as well as endangering the welfare of children as there were juveniles home at the time of the alleged argument and stabbing.
