Westwood Racquet Club reopened Tuesday, two weeks after officials closed the indoor tennis and pickleball facility due to snow and ice damage, and concerns about a roof collapse .
An accumulation of snow and ice on the facility’s roof and exterior walls caused a section of its gutters to collapse directly above the main entrance. Officials closed Westwood, 2660 Zuck Road, on Dec. 4.
What repairs were made at Westwood?
Over the past two weeks, construction crews have been repairing the gutters and entrance area, and ensuring there were no other structural issues.
“Thank you for your patience while we worked through the repairs we needed to make to make it safe for you again,” Westwood officials said in an email to customers. “We look forward to seeing you all again.”
Westwood’s junior programs will resume Dec. 30.
