The former executive director of the Erie Humane Society appeared in court virtually on Wednesday to be arraigned on felony charges.
Nicole Leone is accused of using more than $23,000 of humane society money for personal use.
Leone appeared on a video call Wednesday afternoon before District Judge Jeffrey Gadley.

Bail was set at $50,000.
Leone was released after the hearing on unsecured bail meaning she signed a written promise to appear in court at a later date.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 30.
