Drug Raid at Lincoln Avenue Apartment Nets Four Arrests

A two-month probe into narcotics sales in the City of Dunkirk ended with four arrests Wednesday morning. Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at the lower apartment of 107 Lincoln Avenue just before 7:30 AM, with entry gained by the Dunkirk Police SRT Team. As a result, investigators seized 9.9 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, scales and packaging material, and $5,634 in cash. The Sheriff’s Office says 59-year-old Vieon Santos of Dunkirk was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. 51-year-old Donald Tolbert and 43-year-old Derek Saxton, both of Fredonia, were both charged with 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. And 41-year-old Juan Ortiz of Dunkirk was charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and also had an arrest warrant out of the Village of Fredonia. All four suspects were transported to the Dunkirk Police Department to be held for arraignment in Dunkirk City Court. Meanwhile, city building inspectors were called to inspect the Lincoln Avenue address, and as a result, the building was condemned.
