Emmaus Ministries helping meet holiday shopping needs at annual Christmas store

Who doesn’t love picking out gifts for loved ones?

Thanks to Emmaus Ministries and some generous donors, children from 11 City of Erie schools are able to do just that, at no cost.

Former Make-A-Wish recipient hosts fundraiser to benefit the nonprofit

Sister Gus’s Kids Cafe hosted its annual Christmas store on Thursday where 60 children got paired with personal shoppers to help them find gifts for their family members.

The students also got a chance to wrap the gifts so they could present them in holiday style.

EPD hosts Shop with a Cop event for kids involved in Police Athletic League

“It’s very important for them because of course these kids are coming from families that probably wouldn’t be able to have the money for the kids to shop and get gifts for the people in their family. This is just a wonderful event and we have some very very kind donors who bring things for this event literally all year long,” said Jane Wagner, Kids’ Cafe coordinator.

The Emmaus Soup Kitchen will host its annual Christmas party on Friday.
