Beauty and the Beast back at the Erie Playhouse for first time in 20 years

A fan favorite returned to the Erie Playhouse for the first time in 20 years.

The Artistic Director of the Erie Playhouse, Richard Davis, said Beauty and the Beast is one of the most popular shows at the playhouse and sells out quickly.

The Nutcracker returns to the Warner Theatre with local twist

Davis said the show will be returning to Broadway and that the Erie Playhouse could be one of the last theaters in the country to showcase it.

Davis credited the crew and actors for their dedication and said the snowstorm made an impact on their operations.

“We had to cancel a lot of rehearsals so we ended up pushing first rehearsal, first performance, back to the 27th and then we also added on two additional performances because the show is so popular,” Davis said.

Davis says the final show will take place on Dec. 29.
