( WJET/WFXP ) — Erie Police have confirmed that a one-year-old is in critical condition after a two-car accident Sunday night.
Crews were called to the intersection of East 21st and Ash Street around Saturday Evening around 6:05 p.m. for a two-car crash. One of the vehicles hit a pole and then a nearby house, while the other suffered rear damage. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the accident.
According to a witness, roads had to be closed for several blocks surrounding the crash while crews investigated.
The child was flown down to Pittsburgh for treatment of the injuries sustained and is in critical condition. Police tell us that no one else was injured.
Erie Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
