The initiative focuses on supporting local first responders who rely on blood donations so they can ensure the best care possible in time-sensitive emergency situations.

“Unfortunately we had 15 drives that were canceled and we lost 450 units that would have been collected during that time of our shortened hours here plus those canceled drives,” said Megan Solensky, community relations specialist for the Community Blood Bank. “Right now everyone’s really busy so it’s a really hard time when people are trying to gather with family, get those last-minute Christmas gifts, and enjoy their time off to remember that we still need them to come out and donate.”
