Conneaut Lake Fire Dept. rescues four stranded canoers on frigid lake

Members of the Conneaut Lake Fire Department were called out early Monday morning for a cold water rescue.

Around 5:30 Monday morning, calls went out for four people in a canoe that needed assistance just south of the Hotel Conneaut.

One person had reportedly fallen into the water, and with the frigid water conditions, firefighters had to move in fast.

Multiple units arrived on scene, including the scuba team from Crawford County, who used a hovercraft to get out over the icy water.
