ERIE, PA – Roads will be clear for holiday travel, although watch out for slick spots on untreated surfaces heading out to midnight mass, especially parking lots and driveways. Otherwise, it will be smooth sailing for Santa and his sleigh.
The technical definition of a white Christmas is when there’s at least an inch of snow on the ground at 7 a.m. Christmas Day. It will be a white Christmas for some, but not everywhere. Expect mostly cloudy weather with some brightening at times on Christmas Day.
Expect a clearing sky on Thursday, before more clouds arrive on Friday. It will turn significantly warmer this weekend. The temperature will climb to near 50 degrees on Saturday with scattered showers developing. The mercury pushes well into the 50s on Sunday with periods of rain likely.
Above-normal temperatures and rainy weather will last through New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
