Thirteen small businesses are turning the page to a new chapter as they graduate from the Vanguard Erie Cohort.

“When we come together as one, so many things and so many more dreams can come true,” said Natasha Tyes.

Natasha Tyes is the owner and CEO of the southern and seafood cuisine restaurant Taste of Love.

The chef is one of 13 who are graduating from New Wall Street Ventures.

The program is a partnership between Erie’s Black Wall Street and Bridgeway Capital.

The accelerator cohort was previously named Vanguard and aims to help entrepreneurs pursue business development, financial resilience and community impact.

“What we wanted to do was create an accelerator that delves a little bit more deeply into the kinds of factors that are important to keep minority businesses open and thriving,” said Dr. Rhonda Matthews, associate director at Erie’s Black Wall Street.

Dr. Matthews added each business owner was chosen for their unique contributions to the community.
