Northern Erie and Southern Erie under a wind advisory until Monday morning

On Sunday at 3:05 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid from 10 a.m. until Monday 10 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie. “South winds 15 to 25 mph with isolated gusts up to 50 mph expected today, shifting southwest 20 to 30 mph with widespread gusts up to 50 mph expected this evening and tonight,” explains the weather service. “Sporadic and isolated strong winds are possible late this morning and this afternoon. More widespread and persistent strong winds are expected along and behind a cold front this evening into the first half of tonight. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms may accompany the cold front. Any stronger showers or thunderstorms can locally enhance wind gusts to greater than 50 mph.”
