The General McLane School District community is mourning the passing of legendary band director and educator John Marszalek, according to a Facebook post Monday. “Mr. Marszalek dedicated decades of his life to inspiring students, shaping young musicians, and building the Lancer Marching Band and instrumental music program into a source of pride for our community,” the post said. “His passion for music, education, and excellence left an indelible mark on countless lives.”
