Erie police seek SUV after man hit on city’s east side Saturday night

Erie police are searching for a white sport utility vehicle suspected of hitting a 70-year-old man on the city’s east side on Saturday night.

The accident was reported on Saturday at about 11:15 p.m. at East 15th and Ash streets. According to police, officers who responded to the area found the man face-down in the middle of the street.

The man was taken to UPMC Hamot. Information on his condition was not available Monday.

A witness reported seeing a white SUV traveling on Ash Street when the accident occurred. The SUV reportedly stopped briefly before leaving the area, police stated.

Anyone with information on the accident, including the vehicle, is asked to call Erie police Sgt. Thomas Dunmire at 814-870-1171.
