The average price for a gallon of gas has gone down slightly as the year 2024 comes to a close. AAA reports that Monday’s national average is $3.03, which is nearly two cents lower than a week ago. New York State’s average price at the pump is $3.12, down by a fraction of a cent. And the average in Chautauqua County has decreased by more than two cents to $3.25. One year ago, the national and statewide averages were $3.12 and $3.37, respectively.
