Lake effect snow warnings remain in effect for most of the area through Sunday evening, here’s what we expect.
1. The heaviest snows have been in the inland snowblets where generally 8 to 16″ has fallen already. The second map highlights in pink with the yellow numbers the expected accumulations in these areas through Friday evening.
Speed limit reduced on Interstates 79, 90, 86 in Erie County for second time Wednesday
2. Lesser amounts have fallen along the lakeshore and in Erie but they are still substantial with snow-covered and slippery roads.
3. Beyond Friday night, the focus of the heaviest snows will continue to be in the snowbelts south of I-90 into Meadville. Snow totals will be less in Warren, probably an additional 4-7′ from Thursday night into Saturday. Additional light accumulation each day for most of the lakeshore and Erie as well.
4. Lake Effect Snow will generally wind down in all areas on Sunday, but typical winter weather will continue with less intense snow showers on Monday and cold temperatures remaining into the middle of the month.
