Fredonia Man Charged with Impaired Driving After Vehicle Strikes Pole on Route 60

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies have charged a Fredonia man after the vehicle he was driving reportedly struck an electric pole and continued driving late Friday morning. Deputies were called to a reported vehicle complaint on Route 60 in the Fredonia area at about 11:00 AM, with an investigation finding that 31-year-old Nicholas Mooney was allegedly impaired by drugs. Mooney faces charges of DWAI, moving from lane unsafely, 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was later released with tickets to appear in Pomfret Town Court.
