The Mercyhurst Child Learning Center is suddenly closing its doors and now parents and teachers are faced with the question of what to do next.
On Thursday night, parents and teachers were given a short window to collect their things from the Mercyhurst Child Learning Center, and many of their questions were still left unanswered.
“My friend put it very well, it’s like a death. It’s like you get up every day and you think it’s a bad dream,” said Kim Daniszewski, preschool teacher.
Kim Daniszewski has been teaching at the Mercyhurst Child Learning Center for almost 30 years, and a few days ago, the center announced it would not be reopening in 2025.

Daniszewski was given 15 minutes to clear the classroom she worked in for years, and now, she said she is forced to find work elsewhere.
“We got a signup to pick up our things, teachers as well, for 15 minutes, so that’s the only time I really got angry. How can you give me 29 years, 29 years to pack up,” she told us.
