There has apparently been no delay on New York State’s imposition of new wetland regulations on lakes and other bodies of water, including Chautauqua Lake. This week, the State DEC finalized regulations to protect an estimated one million additional acres of land statewide and implemented changes to the Freshwater Wetlands Act. However, Chautauqua County Executive P.J. Wendel says there is a new concern over possible wetlands that are further inland from lakes.
