( WJET/WFXP ) — A Ripley, New York man is dead after a PennDOT snow plow collided with an SUV in Greenfield Township on Saturday.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Erie, calls went out for the crash along Route 89 near Townline Road around 2:39 Saturday afternoon between a plow heading south and a Jeep heading north.
Police said snow blew from a field on the western onto the plow blocking the driver’s view who hit the brakes causing the Jeep to strike the back of the plow.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 74-year-old Thomas Dedinsky of Ripley, New York was pronounced dead at the scene with a passenger also suffering minor injuries. The plow driver was not injured.
PSP’s crash reconstruction team along with forensics was also called to the scene as police continue to investigate.
