The Kitchen 601 is closed. Erie soul food restaurant owners reveal plans for next tenant

The owners of The Kitchen 601 at 601 Brown Avenue say they have closed the restaurant and are renting the building to the next tenant.

Owners Frankie Quinn, 60, and Tracy Quinn, 61, told the Times-News that they still own the building, but they have closed the kitchen business and are ready for their next chapter in life.

That chapter includes renting out the building to an investor who Frankie Quinn says has plans for another soul food restaurant while the Quinns continue running operations at Christian Ministries of the Apostolic Faith Church at 930 Liberty St.

“As far as the kitchen goes, we rented that out to another business that will start another soul food kitchen,” Bishop Frankie Quinn said. “I don’t know how soon they will be open, but it should be soon because the property was turn-key ready.”

The Quinn family opened the soul food takeout restaurant in April of 2024 where they served breakfast, lunch and dinner options from omelets to fish sandwiches and more.
