Local sweet shop reopens its doors to a new expanded space

The sweet scents of baked goods are now filling the air on West 10th Street in downtown Erie.

Cafe 7-10 held its grand re-opening celebration Tuesday morning.

Owner Mabel Howard said they have doubled their size, which includes a commercial kitchen on site.

The cafe has been under construction for about a year. They originally planned to open last month, but the weather and snow set them back by a month.

“We’re excited to be here today on January 7th. Today is my grandmother’s birthday if she was still alive, but we’re celebrating in honor of her like it’s the birth of a restart. We’re prepared to go higher and do greater things for the community,” said Howard.

The cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 7:10 a.m. to 7:10 p.m.
