NORTH EAST — A man accused of stealing a Mountain Dew from a gas station in the borough early Saturday morning is facing more serious charges after police said he also attempted to rob the station of cash during his visit.
Curtis M. Maciel, 35, whom police listed as homeless, was in the Erie County Prison on $200,000 bond Monday following his arraignment Saturday afternoon on charges including felony robbery and terroristic threats. North East police accuse Maciel of entering the Kwik Fill at 163 South Lake St. shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, grabbing a Mountain Dew and then approaching a female employee with a note ordering her to open the cash register and indicating he had a gun.
