Your Weather Authority: Cold and snow ease, before a harsh bitter blast next week

ERIE, PA – Estimated snow totals from the band of lake effect snow that moved south Tuesday evening range from 4 to 8 inches with localized higher amounts. Expect additional lake-effect snow showers and flurries on Wednesday with another 2-4 inches locally, especially in areas of sustained lake-effect snow.

Be careful of changeable weather on Wednesday, as roads will be snow-covered and slippery at times. Lake effect snow lifts north late Wednesday, as winds become southwesterly. After a brief lull, another fast-moving, but weak low-pressure arrives on Thursday. Widespread light snow and snow showers return, with another coating to 2 or 3 inches on Thursday.
