Chautauqua County Humane Society Celebrates 120th Anniversary

The community came together to celebrate the Chautauqua County Humane Society’s 120th Anniversary last Thursday, January 9th at the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union Training Center.

During the celebration, CCHS Executive Director Jane Babinsky unveiled the new logo, colors, mission and vision statements, and core values. Babinsky said, ‘We are breathing new life into CCHS as we also are going to be embarking on a capital campaign this year to upgrade our facility to be compliant with New York State’s new Animal Cares Act. We all do what we do to because we want to provide the best care possible for the animals in our care and to assist the community with providing services for the care of all animals.” Looking ahead, she said, “We hope to expand our humane education programs, plan on bringing back pet therapy visits, expanding clinic services, and we are going to be offering K-9 behavior and training classes in the near future.”

Chautauqua County Executive P.J. Wendel was in attendance and took the microphone to recognize the history of CCHS and the importance of the work done by the organization. He then presented Babinsky with a special certificate from the county to recognize the anniversary…
