The new year has already brought some of the coldest conditions we have seen in the past few winters, but that doesn’t stop our community from engaging in the joys of playing outside. After a lack of snow in past winters, the 2025 Winter Fun Day was pridefully held at Pleasant Ridge Park.
Bringing in a great number of families and people of all ages, the event included various activities such as a sled racing tournament, sled dog demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and more. Concessions were offered inside the heated common area, offering a place to take a break from the below freezing temperatures.
We spoke to the director of Fairview Township’s Parks and Rec, Nate Millet, who says they are thankful for this refresh in winter weather this year. “Three years past we’ve been struggling to have snow, we got lucky and had snow on the day of the event, it’s a perfect day for winter fun day.”…
