Erie’s recent cold snap has sent dozens of people to local emergency departments with sprained wrists, broken legs and head contusions due to falling on icy driveways, sidewalks and staircases.
UPMC Hamot and Saint Vincent Hospital both reported an increase in slip-and-fall patients this week after temperatures plummeted into the single digits on Monday and below zero Tuesday night.
