Chautauqua Police have arrested a Pennsylvania man in the Town of Chautauqua for DWI after leaving the scene for a crash. On Friday around 4:30pm, officers with the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a single vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of East Chautauqua St. and Honeysette Rd. where the operator had allegedly fled the scene. Upon arrival, deputies were able to locate the male operator who was identified as 43-year-old Chad Gantz of Union City, PA. Through investigation it was determined that Gantz was found to allegedly be intoxicated, and he was arrested for felony DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, unlicensed operation, operation out of ignition interlock restrictions, fail to maintain driving lane, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
