NY weather update: Wind advisory affecting Chautauqua and Erie counties until Thursday morning

At 2:03 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released an updated wind advisory valid from 4 p.m. until Thursday 6 a.m. for Chautauqua and Erie counties.

The weather service says, “Southeast to south winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Strongest gusts expected along the Lake Erie shoreline, as well interior hill tops.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” explains the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
