Celoron Man Accused of Injuring Officer, Damaging Patrol Vehicle After Traffic Stop

A Celoron man faces numerous charges after a recent traffic stop for speeding on Fairmount Avenue in West Ellicott. According to Ellicott Town Police, a car driven by 48-year-old Simeon Leeper got pulled over near Warwick Avenue just after 2:00 AM on March 22nd. Officers found that Leeper’s driver’s license was revoked, and due to his driving record, they tried to take him into custody. However, he resisted several times. Leeper then allegedly kicked an officer’s hand and injured it by pinning it against the patrol vehicle. While Leeper was being taken to the Chautauqua County Jail, he allegedly repeatedly kicked the rear door of the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage.
