District judge holds trio for court on all charges in October fatal beating of Erie man

Three men accused of taking part in an October assault in an east Erie neighborhood that left a 31-year-old man dead are facing trial on all of the criminal charges city police filed against them in the fatal attack.

Erie 5th Ward District Judge Paul Bizzarro on April 22 bound over to court each charge that city police detectives filed against Jeffery D. Edmond, Jack M. DeFilippo and Devon Barnett in the Oct. 30 assault on 31-year-old Ledomperignon Eady. Bizzarro made his ruling days after testimony ended April 17 in a two-day preliminary hearing that opened March 21, as he sought more time to review evidence and testimony presented at the hearing.

Edmond, DeFilippo and Barnett remain in prison without bond as they await their formal arraignments in Erie County Court of Common Pleas. Each is facing criminal homicide and conspiracy to commit criminal homicide charges, along with felony counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, conspiracy to commit simple assault and recklessly endangering another person…
