Diocese of Erie hosting memorial mass for Pope Francis

( WJET/WFXP )– The Diocese of Erie is inviting the Erie faithful to join them in prayer to honor the life and legacy of the late Pope Francis.

The memorial mass will be at Saint Peter Cathedral on Friday, May 2, at 5:15, celebrated by Bishop Lawrence Persico, which will also be livestreamed on the cathedral’s website for anyone not able to attend.

The funeral Mass for Pope Francis, who died April 21 at the age of 88, will be celebrated by the dean of the College of Cardinals on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. (4 a.m. EDT) in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City.
