( WJET/WFXP ) — A $255,000 project to preserve two culverts in Erie County is scheduled to start soon.
Construction is expected to begin on May 12 and end by July, weather permitting, on two culverts, one in Harborcreek Township and one in Summit Township. The roadways are expected to remain open throughout the project.

One culvert carries Route 430 (Station Road) over Mitchell Run in Harborcreek Township, approximately a half mile east of the I-90 interchange, and is classified as being in poor condition.
The other culvert carries Robison Road over a branch of Walnut Creek in Summit Township, between Cherry Street and Parson Road, and is classified as being in fair condition.
Work will include lining the culverts with shotcrete, a concrete and mortar mixture, to preserve and reinforce them. The roadways will remain open throughout the project, with traffic controlled by flaggers as needed.
