Erie gets the boot, LL Bean Bootmobile tours the town ahead of store opening

If you saw a 10,000-pound boot driving around Erie over the past few days, we promise you weren’t imagining things.

L.L. Bean has brought their famous bootmobile to Erie to highlight the opening of their Peach Street location in June.

They’re now hiring at the new location and will be making stops throughout Erie before heading out of town Saturday.

“Basically what they do is they take the truck, strip it down, build a metal frame on it, spray foam it and once they spray foam it they sand it down and put a hard coat paint job on it and finish it with all these little details,” said Tucker Van Dusen, experiential marketing specialist.

“You just see the jaws dropping on the side of the road when people are walking by or they see us in their vehicles.
