A man was shot and killed by a Chautauqua County deputies on Wednesday after they responded to a call for a domestic incident at a home on Mina French Creek Road, according to authorities.
Sheriff Jim Quattrone said two deputies responded to the scene around 4 p.m. and encountered a suspect armed with a shotgun outside.
After several attempts at de-escalation, according to the sheriff, a confrontation between the armed suspect and deputies resulted in an exchange of gunfire with the suspect firing his shotgun at deputies, hitting one. Quattrone said both deputies then returned fire, shooting the suspect.
