(WJET/WFXP)– Dog owners hoping to take their pups for a swim this weekend will want to do so away from a few locations along the shores of Lake Erie, with algae swimming warnings being issued for dogs.
As of June 18, the Erie County Department of Health has issued seven harmful algae bloom (HAB) swimming advisories for dogs.

Elk Creek Access in Girard, Avonia Beach in Fairview, along with Sturgeon Bay, Presque Isle Marina, Liberty Park, and Dobbins Landing all have dog advisories.
