CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation announced Tuesday, it has opened an investigation into the death of Mark Bemis, who was shot and killed by Chautauqua County deputies.
Deputies were called to a domestic incident on June 18th in the Town of Mina, which is just south of I-86 and near the Pennsylvania border.
According to the AG’s office, when deputies arrived, they saw Bemis standing outside the garage holding a long gun. He and deputies eventually exchanged gunfire. The Sheriff’s office said last week, several verbal commands were given before the shooting happened…
