(WJET/WFXP) — The body of a swimmer reported missing at Chautauqua Lake over the weekend has been recovered.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, search teams were called to the lake Saturday afternoon after a swimmer went under the water near the Chautauqua Institution, who never came up.

Crews searched until sundown Saturday night with no results and started again Sunday morning, finding the swimmer’s remains using sonar around noon.
