Twenty-three cadets graduated from Mercyhurst University’s Municipal Police Training Academy, receiving their badges to become officers.
The graduation ceremony marked the completion of training for the 125th class of cadets, equipping them with skills necessary for entry-level positions in law enforcement.

Bill Hale, Director of the Police Academy, highlighted the shortage of police positions, stating, “Next year in the Commonwealth there’ll be 2,600 available police positions, so there’s a shortage and we’re hoping to fill the gap with some of these guys.”
