The ANNA Shelter, alongside Pennsylvania State Police, rescued over 50 animals from deplorable conditions earlier this week, marking a significant intervention in a case of animal cruelty.
In two separate rescues, the team removed 26 cats, 4 dogs, 10 horses, and 10 cattle from terrible living conditions. The animals were found to be in poor health, requiring extensive care and treatment.

Ruth Thompson, founder and director of the ANNA Shelter, described the rescue efforts as exhausting due to the large number of animals and the extreme heat. “These were large intakes, it was 96 degrees, it was a lot going on and these animals were in really poor condition,” she said.
