Paving project scheduled to start in Meadville
The work comes as part of a two-bridge contract PennDOT has that includes the Evans Road bridge over Mill Creek in Millcreek Township, which is expected to be open again before the holiday.
In light of the closure to the Old Lake Road Bridge, a detour will be in place using Elmwood Road, Route 5, and Eagley Road (Route 3009) lasting about two months.
The bridge is classified as being in fair condition seeing about 80 cars a day and owned by Springfield Township. Work on the bridge includes removing the asphault and replacing it with a new concrete deck and barriers.
