United Way hosting free kids summer camp at ECAT building

Students of all ages had the opportunity to experience enriching activities and create lasting memories.

Every Tuesday until August 12, a free summer camp is held at the Erie Center for Arts and Technology, or ECAT, building.

Merger approved between Gannon University, Ursuline College

The camp is designed to engage children and their families in 90 minutes of activities including song, games and storytelling.

One of the organizers said that this is a great way for literacy building during the summer months.

“We think literacy comes from reading a book with a child, but literacy is a life-long activity and it’s also about building relationships with people in the community. That also builds a learner for life; modeling, sitting next to an adult, doing an activity together.
