Erie City Council has unanimously passed a resolution to support the Erie Zoo, marking a significant step towards securing the zoo’s future.
The resolution commits the city to good faith negotiations with Erie Events, which is being considered for financial oversight and strategic direction of the zoo. This comes as the zoo, celebrating its centennial, faces urgent challenges after losing its accreditation in 2021 due to insufficient funding and outdated exhibits.
